Since I had to do longer exposures (it was dark) I also got to play around a little. I did this by zooming in quickly while the shutter was open. I kind of like it.

Have Some Clouds
A close friend of my family passed away suddenly last Sunday evening. I've been away dealing with that. Hopefully I'll be able to catch up with some new models and reschedule our tentative plans. I have yet to shoot the same model twice but that's not intentional, time to brainstorm new ideas for models I've worked with. Until then, I took plenty of pictures from the airplane ride back from Long Island. Enjoy!

This is one from the night shoot I did before I went on vacation. It was my first shoot at night so there was a lot of experimenting with my camera. I wish I knew how to do crisp low light shots. I guess that is my homework.
Back From Vacation
Spent the past week in Long Island visiting my fiance's family. This is his nephew Andrew and his girlfriend Gabi. I took a ton of pics there and had a set from a night shoot I did a few days before we left. I got everything edited and started playing around in a beginners photo editor for some change. I usually use photoshop and am not so heavy-handed but its fun to be corny sometimes ;)

I went to an amusement park yesterday with my sis and two of her friends. My god I'm tired.
I have two shoots scheduled for next week for the same theme but the models are completely different so I think I'm going to have a nice variety. Not to mention, I still have to break Anatomy apart lol.
Anatomy 2010
AnatomySpent Tuesday at the beach; it was gorgeous! I took pics of course but they're downstairs... which means I haven't put them on my computer yet. Still editing the ones of Anatomy as well. I'm pulling aside the ones that I like as is and then I'll go back and do the Broken Doll photoshopping. I'm going to be working on that for a while lol.
Sarah's Got Her Groove Back!
...kind of...I left the Anatomy set untouched until today and am pleased with the results. I am liking the pics more and am even playing around in photoshop, rather than just straight editing. Still not back to normal but getting there. Trip to the beach tomorrow if this heat keeps up. Hopefully I won't get sand all up in my cameras.

So I finally got to shoot Anatomy yesterday!! Which means I have more pics to edit! I'm trying to space them out so I don't OD in one sitting then have withdrawls lol.
Finally have plans for the 4th, which makes me feel less alone. And in just over 3 weeks, we will be heading to Long Island for a much needed vacation. Aah, summer

Just got back from visiting my friend Jeff the last couple days. Aah, 2 days of watching movies, staring at his shag carpet, alternate side parking, trying to photograph a lightning ball, one cake run to wegmans, 2 nights on a futon, 2 lap dances, and countless strange conversations.
Summer Forever!
Self Portrait from Memorial DayI wish summer would last forever. I feel most alive in the sun. I may be pasty white and allergic to it but damnit I will try to be in it every moment I'm awake. (and if I fall asleep in my backyard, then I will pay the price of burned and peeling skin... again) We finally have summer weather back in my corner of the world and that makes me very very happy.

I got a tripod last week as an early anniversary gift from my fiance. I just took it out of the box today and I can't wait to use it. Now I just need models. I might have to keep one in a secret compartment in my basement so I have one around whenever I want one... but then I'd probably forget to feed her for weeks on end.

I am a hoarder. In my defense, I don't hoard garbage or cats or porcelin figures of Jesus... I hoard things that make me feel creative. My "sewing room" is full of fabric, findings, old clothing, stripwear I've yet to sell, notebooks, magazines, books on a variety of subjects, different papers, my cameras, a couple rolls of wallpaper, and a few boxes with totally random things like mini playing cards and lanyards. If I find something intriguing at a thrift store or garage sale, I will get it and put it in my "model closet" for possible future use (bottom two dresses). I will also get high and make other intriguing pieces of clothing (top two dresses). I'd rather use something totally off the wall for a photo shoot than something everyone has or can identify where it was bought.

Kate, in PoladroidMy central air stopped working some time yesterday. The fact that I pay extra rent for the pleasure of having it pissed me off. So I spent last night not sleeping but fuming, fiddling with the thermostat, and moving the fan around trying to get it to blow more than the hot breath that filled my bedroom. I'm sitting in the same hot breath waiting for the repair guy to come fix it. I'm not expecting much from him... I might sleep in the basement tonight where at least the air is cool and stagnant.

KateFinished editing the set from Kate last night. Had a couple that tested my photoshop skills but they came out good.
No figure drawing tonight... I get to splatter paint with girl scouts instead. And of course bring my camera. Finally remembered to order batteries for my film camera... now I wish they were here.
My Saturday/Sunday Post
KateSo, I worked tonight and get to do it again tomorrow so this is my post for these two sucky days in which I am forced to make conversation with people who shouldn't be allowed on their own.
